About the Data Center Census
An independent, neutral public record of the data center build-out in the United States.
Data centers are being proposed in towns that have never hosted one, at a scale measured in gigawatts. The facts people need (how big, how much water, who’s behind it, when the vote is) are scattered across county PDFs, utility dockets and local news. The Census puts them in one place, with a source for every number.
We serve residents, local officials, reporters, landowners, investors and the industry alike. We don’t take sides on whether any project should be built.
Independence
The Census is not affiliated with any developer, tenant, utility, advocacy group or government body. If we ever run sponsorships, they will be clearly labeled and will never affect the record.
